The 10K will start at 9:00 AM.

START LOCATION

Start line is on Hedgestone Lane, approximately 400m from the Westin Bear Mountain.

CANCELLATION POLICY

In compliance with the running industry policy, all entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This policy applies to all registrants whether you are injured, have an unexpected family/business emergency, have a medical emergency, or anything else. If the course has to be changed or the race cancelled due to an act of nature, there are no refunds or rollovers. There are NO exceptions. However, if you follow our rollover guidelines, (see below), we will allow you to roll over your entry to the 2018 event at no charge.

Rollover entries are only valid if all guidelines are met and only for the following year’s event, i.e. 2017 to 2018.

WAIVER

All participants are required to individually sign the Participation Waiver in order to take part in the Bear Mountain 10K. When you register online, by agreeing electronically, you acknowledge that you have both read and understood all text presented to you as part of the registration process.

ROLLOVER POLICY GUIDELINES

To qualify for a rollover entry you must send your request via email by October 1, 2017 (by midnight PST/PDS). After this deadline notifications will not be valid. Rollover entries are only valid for the following year’s event, i.e. 2017 for 2018

BIB SWITCHES

A bib is individually assigned to each participant. We therefore thank you for your collaboration ensuring that no bib is given or sold to another person. Race results and competitors’ awards can be impacted, and medical staff might not be able to identify a participant in need of treatment unless the person wearing the bib and taking part in the race is the same person listed in our database.

RACE REQUIREMENTS

No pets, wheels, unregistered pacers, or baby joggers on the course.
No selfie sticks or poles.
We care about the well being of our fellow participants, therefore please make sure you are in good health and physically prepared for the challenge.
Race numbers are required to take part in the race. No gifting or selling your race bib to another person.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY REGISTERED?

When you register online, providing a valid email address, you will receive automatic confirmation of registration via email. If you fail to receive this, you can either contact us or bring your photo ID and proof of payment (cancelled check or credit card statement) to the Registration Desk during Packet pick-up hours hours.

WILL THERE BE GEAR PICK-UP AT THE FINISH?

A place to store your bag will be provided at the Westin Ballroom. Make sure you write your bib number legibly on the bag. Please do not place items of value in your gear bag as we cannot be held responsible for lost or broken items. Clothing found in unclaimed bags will be donated to charity.

HOW MANY AID STATIONS ARE THERE ALONG THE COURSE? WHAT BEVERAGES WILL BE OFFERED?

Water stations located approximately 3km and 5.5k along the course. There will be first aid and medical support at the finish line.

WILL THERE BE MEDALS FOR EVERYONE WHO COMPLETES THE HALF MARATHON & 5K?

All runners who complete the 10K run will receive a beautiful commemorative medal as they cross the finish line.

WILL THERE BE ANY PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN DURING THE EVENT?

A professional company will be taking pictures along the course and at the start/finish line. We cannot guarantee that all participants will be photographed.

WHERE CAN SPECTATORS/FAMILY VIEW THE RACE?

Spectators are encouraged to gather at the start/finish line to cheer runners as they start and finish the race, along Champions Way (~5km) near the aid station and behind Jacks Place Pub (~8km).

HOW SOON ARE RESULTS ANNOUNCED AND WHERE CAN I FIND THEM?

Results will be posted live online at www.racedaytiming.ca The awards ceremony will be held on race day at 11:30 a.m. Timing is provided by Race Day Timing Services.

WHAT IF I AM HURT AND CANNOT RUN OR WALK? DO I GET A REFUND?

Your entry fee is NON-TRANSFERABLE AND NON-REFUNDABLE. You may not roll it over to another year or transfer, sell or give it to another person if you are unable to run.

CAN I PUSH MY CHILD IN A JOG STROLLER?
Sorry, but for safety and liability reasons, we do not allow baby joggers on the course. The minimum age for participation in this event is 10. As a walker, you may not carry an infant in either a back or front pack. Furthermore, no pets or wheels are allowed on the course.
