Age Groups and Awards

Male and Female: Under 15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in the above Age Divisions.

Prize Money

There will be $1500 in prize money awarded to the top 5 overall male/female as well as a $100 bonus for breaking the course records.

Race timing is being provided by Race Day Timing Services. This event does not use chip timing. Full results will be posted by the morning of November 22nd.

Hotel Room Rates

The Westin Bear Mountain Resort offers a room rate of $110/night + applicable taxes for race participants. Quote 'BMR10K' when making your reservation.

Race Garments - NEW 2009 clothing!

There will be a variety of race souvenirs available for purchase at the post race expo. All souvenirs will be technical pieces from Asics screened with the race logo.

Course Tours - SOLD OUT!

Ride along with Race Director, Mark Nelson, as he tours the 10k course and gives you tips on how to run your best on this course. Tour leaves from the front of the Westin Hotel at 4:00pm on Friday, November 20th. Cost is $10 (pre-register on race entry form or online).

Aid Stations

There will be two aid stations on the course at 3km and 6km. Each station will serve water and E-Load electrolyte mix.

Average race day temperature, a high of 9 degrees and a low of 5 degrees.

Post-Race Massage

Parkway Physiotherapy will be present after the race to provide post-race massage and assessments for participants. Visit Parkway Physiotherapy.

Post-Race Party & Concert

After great success from last years performers Jon and Roy, we are continuing with the Bear Mountain After Party at Jack's Place Pub up on the mountain. This year is featuring local Victoria band, Quoia. The after party will get underway at 11:30am and will feature drink and food specials. Listen to Quoia. Race participants get in free with their race number and tickets for family and guests can be purchased for $5 at the door.
